Wondering how much time to book?

Think of your video as a story made up of different scenes.

I would allow approximately 45 minutes to complete one video scene.  Each video scene entails:

1, Building the set.

2, Styling the backgrounds and props.

3, Setting the video lighting and colour balance.

4, Filming a scene.

5, Adding the footage into the video software timeline to make an initial edit.

A half day of video 9.00am to 1.00pm is 4 hours and a full day 9.00am to 5.00pm is 7 hours.

Please mention during the quote process if you require one round of editing amends after the shoot is complete.  An additional half day would be required, scheduled and invoiced.

How to make a brief for your product video

Think about the story you want to tell in your video.

A story-board will help you work out how to tell that story in pictures.

I have a powerpoint template that you can use to write what is in each scene, no need to draw :)

Fill in a story-board to plan out individual scenes and camera angles.

Count the number of scenes required to make the video.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best and two scenes are enough to tell the story.

This video is an example from the story-board above

A four scene video which requires 180 minutes to make

General video information

Video is shot on a DSRL camera at FULLHD resolution with LED lighting, for an affordable video option.

Product video can be made at different image ratios  IG reel ratio 6x19 1080 x1920px or landscape 19x6.   1x1 1080px X 1080px

Rough cut editing will be completed during the shoot day to ensure that each scene is working before moving onto the next set up.

I don’t include music in the videos so that you can change the feel of the video for different platforms.

Booking photography and video?  It's best to book in half/ full days separately as shooting video requires a different camera and lighting type to product photography.

Booking Your Video Shoot Date

I recommend booking eight weeks in advance of your videoshoot for availability, this also allows time for the shoot planning process.  A 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure your shoot date in my diary along with your signed booking form and client contract.  Payments are made via BACS or card payment is available for a 3% transaction fee.  Website prices are in GBP a £6.00 business account transaction fee would apply for non UK client payments.

Product Delivery

Please deliver your product five working days ahead of the photoshoot to avoid pesky delivery delays :)

Choose products that are in perfect condition for the best results eg. clearly printed straight labels. Small products may be represented larger than life size, so it's vitally important to carefully package your products to reduce any scratching or damage during transit.  Remember there is no retouching of imperfections on video.

Editing ideas for customising your product video

Add your logo to the start of the video by providing it as a PNG to make an advert

Add a vertical or horizontal slide transition to the next image

Add a blink to white in-between images

Add a blink to black in-between images

Slow fade from one image to the next

Freeze frame on an important image to emphasise a point

Play in slow motion, fast forward or rewind

Video Tips

Remember there is no retouching on video, be sure to select packaging that is perfect where product labels are straight and undamaged etc.

Bear in mind that motion shots can require several takes to achieve the correct result and there can be clean up required of the set in-between each scene too.

An automated product turntable is available to use, for up to 3kg in weight including the background.

Take still images from your video, individual frames can be exported @ 72dpi 1080px x 1920px
